Oliver was born in North Vancouver, B.C. and has lived his entire life by the coast. He is a member of the Peguis Nation, and identifies as a 2spirit person. Currently, he lives in Vancouver, where he continues to create.
West Coast Cree Creations is the representation of complicated identity. I’m a Cree person, yet I was raised on the coast. Seas and mountains are my home. I strive to learn about my ancestors back in Manitoba, and to connect with my elders. My art celebrates the balance between where I grew up on the west coast, and my cultural roots of Cree heritage.
